Getting Here

The Lodge on Amherst Island: The Lodge (check Google for directions from your location)

Drivers please note that there are no gas stations on Amherst Island. Fill up before you catch the ferry. Also, there is no ATM. Please bring cash for the weekend.

The Ferry Schedule

No matter where you are coming from, you have to take the ferry. Ferry tickets are $9 return/car.

The ferry runs between Millhaven Wharf near KINGSTON to Stella Wharf on AMHERST ISLAND.

Coming over to the Island:

Every hour on the half hour from 6:30 AM to 1:30 AM

Leaving the Island:

Every hour on the hour from 6:00 AM to 1:00 AM

So:

The first ferry over to the island is at 6:30 AM and the last ferry to the mainland is at 1:00 AM.

If you miss the ferry, you have to wait an hour to get the next one. If you miss the second ferry, you have to wait another hour. Waiting is so boring! Time your arrival.

Visitor Information

Accommodations

Typically we would say "Check with Victoria at The Lodge" however we are taking over The Lodge for the festival weekend!

Here are some places to stay in the area:

Topsy Farms (Yurt): https://www.topsyfarms.com

Foot Flats Farm: http://www.footflats.com/accommodation.html

Air BnBs with local residents: https://www.airbnb.ca/s/Amherst-Island--Canada/

Millhaven Inn (near the ferry on the mainland site)

Wallers and volunteers have the option to billet in the community or camp. Options are listed on the Hospitality Form when you sign up.

Extending Your Stay

If you are coming any distance, consider extending your stay in Kingston, Prince Edward County, Wolfe Island, or other local communities. It's a beautiful, interesting, and friendly area.

Check with Lennox & Addington County for more!

Food

Festival wallers, volunteers, and invited guests will be fed by The Back Kitchen team, at The Lodge.

A public food vendor will be open on the festival site with sausages and drinks.

The Back Kitchen will be OPEN to the public for the festival weekend. It is the only restaurant on Amherst Island. http://www.thebackkitchen.com

The Back Kitchen is a volunteer, community-run operation in Stella, located one left turn away once you arrive on the island and exit the ferry.

The local General Store has food and snacks as well. It is located at the first intersection you see when you exit the ferry.

You can also get groceries and snacks on your way over in local communities.

The local LCBO is located in Kingston.
